A family behind every find

Welcome to
Rockin’ Minerals.

We’re John & Carra, the family behind Rockin’ Minerals LLC. Since 2018, we’ve been sharing quality rocks, minerals, fossils, and unique specimens with collectors.

A childhood curiosity that grew into a family business.

My love for rocks started as a kid, when my mom would find my pockets full of treasures I’d picked up along the way. Over time, that curiosity led me to cutting and polishing, and to building a collection of my own.

As my collection grew, I wanted to welcome more people into the hobby and offer the kind of shopping experience I valued as a collector: honest information, thoughtful service, and room to ask questions. That’s the spirit Carra and I bring to Rockin’ Minerals.

Carra is the backbone of our business. She takes care of so much behind the scenes, keeping things organized and helping everything run smoothly. Her hard work and dedication are a big part of how we care for our customers and keep our family business moving forward.

When we choose specimens, we look for pieces we’re excited to share. We want you to take home something you’ll be proud to have in your collection—a specimen you can look at years from now and still enjoy.

We’re grateful for the relationships this business has brought into our lives. Many of our longtime customers have become friends, and their continued trust and support mean a great deal to our family. Whether you’re choosing your first rock or adding to a collection you’ve built over a lifetime, we’re glad you’re here.

Gem-show finds, chosen with you

Let us help you find
that special specimen.

Your next collection piece deserves a personal search. Let us connect you with distinctive specimens while we travel to gem and mineral shows, even when you can’t join our live shows.

Enjoy access to gem-show finds without arranging the travel or spending days searching the aisles. Our personal shopping service brings the search to you, with your collecting interests and budget guiding the way.

Our established dealer relationships help us know where to look for the minerals and specimens you have in mind. Share your wish list, and we’ll put those connections and our experience to work while we’re at the show.

1. Tell us what you’re looking for

Share the mineral or specimen, preferred size or locality, and your budget. Reference photos are welcome. Personal shopping starts at a $100 minimum purchase. We’ll discuss your request and budget before we begin.

2. Review the find with us

When we find a potential match, you’ll receive photos and/or video, specimen details, and a clear purchase total for your approval.

3. Approve, pay, and we’ll pick it up

Once you approve the specimen, we collect payment and pick it up for you. Shipping is arranged and charged separately.

Personal service. Transparent pricing.

Our standard personal shopping fee is 25% of the dealer’s price, added to the cost of your specimen. For example, a specimen with a dealer cost of $100 would be $125 with our service fee, before shipping.

Shipping is separate and is not included in, or used to calculate, the 25% service fee.

Personal shopping has a $100 minimum purchase, with no maximum. For higher-priced specimens, we may be able to negotiate the service percentage depending on the item. Contact us to discuss your request; we’ll agree on the service fee before you approve a purchase.
